The Bottom Line

Though I'm doing something different now, I used Intersend for several years with excellent results. I have an integrated drip system with my current site provider, so I'm no longer using it. If you can get HTML form code into your site, this is a very effective drip email service.

Intersend.com became my drip email service of choice when I found several that offered the same features, but they wouldn't allow me to import my current contacts and prospects without making them opt in again. I didn't want to annoy the 800+ I already had. Intersend allowed the import without restriction. This could have something to do with some problems with getting caught in spam filters. However, once informed of it, the Intersend people took care of it.

The power of this approach is that it can be integrated into any or multiple web sites. You group prospects by categories, which might be something like buyers, sellers, investors, etc. Or it might be based on the page that had the form they filled out. This allows you to create multiple campaigns with material targeted more precisely to the prospect's interests. You might use the same campaign for multiple categories, but use the category tracking to see which parts of your site are bringing in the prospects.

I would receive an email each time a new prospect submitted a form and the system would start them at the first email in the appropriate campaign. If they later opted out, the system would categorize them as no longer on the active list and let me know via email also. The system complied with the Federal CANSPAM Act.

The cost of the system at the time of this review is $29.95 per month. There is value in a complete online solution, as you can work on it from anywhere, or have an assistant work remotely on your campaigns and contact databases. You can export at any time in order to maintain a local backup.
